In the Arts
Not everyone is willing to be one of Charles Bukowski’s women. Those chicks are drunk, wild and crazy. But then, actress Lili Taylor isn’t most women. She chooses to be independent and says that the filming of her most recent movie, “Factotum,” based on Bukowski’s second novel, brought that feeling back home. Taylor will receive an Excellence in Acting Award from the Provincetown International Film Festival in a ceremony this Friday. Read an interview with Taylor in this week’s Banner.
Also, read an interview with this year’s Filmmaker on the Edge Award recipient Gregg Araki; a review of “Quinceanera;” an interview with painter Arthur Cohen; photos from last week’s openings; previews of upcoming art exhibits and readings; listings and more.
