In the Arts
Any study of art history or of religion will lead to the discovery of orthodox icon paintings. Both their subject matter and execution are complexly rendered, and to truly master the art takes many years of study and practice. This weekend, there will be an exhibition of original orthodox icon paintings by Sister Faith Riccio on display in the Caritas Gallery at the Church of Transfiguration in Orleans as part of the Advent Festival at the Community of Jesus. The church is located at Rock Harbor and the work, along with a selection of giclee prints, can be seen from 1 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
