Provincetown was bursting at the seams last Friday as nearly 20 openings brought out the crowds.
Clearly the biggest show in town was the Edwin Dickinson retrospective at the Provincetown Art Association. But other exhibitions large and small offered a full range of the Provincetown art experience.
Bob Henry, Selina Trieff, Elspeth Halvorsen and Sky Powre showed at Berta Walker Gallery while Mike Mazur had a solo show at Albert Merola Gallery. Peter Chepus opened at Galleria Raffaello and Suzanne Hitchcock was at Shore Galleries. Glenn Daidonne went up at William Scott Gallery and David Carrino showed at Larry Collins Fine Art.
Other artists with openings in Provincetown included Richard Pepitone, Maike Ware, Tamiko Kawata, Deborah Barlow, Michael Wilson, Thanassi Kuliopoulis, Joerg Dressler and Brenda Haywood. International artists included Liu Yuo at Tao Water Gallery and Cuban artists Edel Bordon and Noa at Galeria Cubana.
In Truro, Taleen Batalian, Christopher Jagmin and Barbara Zeles opened at Truro Fine Art Studio and on Saturday the Wellfleet galleries kicked into gear.
Wellfleet openings included the lunch box show at Blue Heron, Celeste Fine Art, Karla Gudeon and Nan Hass Feldman at Cove Gallery and Robert Sweeney at Kendall Gallery. A retrospective opened at the Wellfleet Library for Joan Patchen.
In Orleans, Addison hosted Michael Harrell, David Mesite and Robert Wisner while down the road Maureen Leavenworth opened at Gallery 31 and Michael Whelan and Michael Mariano had a show at Tree’s Place.
