By Sue Harrison Banner Staff
Actor Jeremy Lawrence will bring his acclaimed one-man show “Everybody Expects Me to Write Another Streetcar” to the Provincetown Theater, 238 Bradford St. for one benefit performance at 10 p.m. on Friday. There will be a reception at Level, 386 Commercial St. at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $40 for the performance, $75 for reception and performance. Reception will include wine and hors d’oeuvres along with a chance to meet the actor. Proceeds will benefit the Tennessee Williams Festival being held Sept. 27-30. Call (508) 487-9793 or go to www.ptowntix.com.
Lawrence, who has appeared on stage and screen, has created two one-man shows that are a homage to Tennessee Williams. The first, “Talking Tennessee” looks at the positive side of Williams’ life while Lawrence’s newer work focuses on the later part of the playwright’s life and some of the darker elements.
Despite all the ups and downs in his life, Williams was a survivor, Lawrence says.
“I hope if would see this show he would sit and cackle in the back of the hall,” Lawrence says.
For a full interview with Lawrence at Williams and about this particular performance, see the Aug. 23 Provincetown Banner.
