Last weekend Truro pulled out the stops for it’s annual Truro Treasures weekend. There was everything one might imagine a small town might do from bake sales to a croquet tournament with few unusual events thrown in as well.
A fishing tournament, very apt since this year’s theme was Hooked on Truro, took place all week with prizes in both adult and kid categories. Dan Sanders gave a talk on the fishing industry at the Highland House to get things rolling on Friday.
The weekend offered a book and bake sale, flea market, craft show, yard sale and plenty of food with a daily food court, pancake breakfast and fish & chips dinner. Kids had fun with face painting and a kids fun run that paired with the adult 5K run/walk. There was a golf tournament, adult treasure hunt, dog show and antique car show. On Saturday there was an Antiques Roadshow style of antique appraisals with Keith Klinger and several walks and talks.
Sunday tied up the festivities with two popular events, the Grape Stomp & Jazz Festival at the Truro Vineyard and Winery and the Dump Dance with Sarah Burrill and her band.
