TRURO — A mid-morning rescue call led to a Medflight before noon on Monday.
The victim, an 80 year-old man was at his home on Shore Road in North Truro when it is believed he cut his hand severely with a table saw. Rescue responded and made the decision to transport the man to Boston.
It is unknown whether the decision was based on the severity of the laceration, the man’s age or a combination of the two.
Medflight was called and landed a chopper in front of the Truro Safety Facility on Route 6 and picked up the man for transport to a Boston area hospital.
Truro dispatcher Martha Wheeler said that more information is not available at this time on the man’s condition.
