Despite a brilliant effort on the part of the Nauset boys soccer team, they were unable to stop Walpole in the quarterfinals (see story in this week’s sport section).

The game, played at Walpole, was still tied at 1-1 after two overtime periods and went into rounds of penalty kicks. The teams were tied at 2-2 after five rounds of kicks but Walpole pushed through in the sixth round to win in 3-2.

With nine starters from this tough Nauset team returning for next year, the coach predicts a strong season.
