WELLFLEET — An intruder was discovered in the Zehnder residence on Woodlot Road early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 4:51 a.m. the Wellfleet Police Dept. received a 911 call from Ben Zehnder who reported that a young white male was just inside their residence and had then left after a struggle. The Zehnders were awakened during the early morning hours to find a person in their bedroom. The person was described as a young white male, wearing dark colored clothing. A short struggle ensued and the suspect fled the residence with no one being injured.
Sgt. William Brazile and Officer Steven Pariseau responded and resquested assistance from the Barnstable Sheriff’s office, including K-9 back-up and the county’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for photos, prints and a composite artist. When the composite sketch is completed it will be posted on this site.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Wellfleet Police Dept. and members of the Barnstable Sheriff’s office. Anyone with information is urged to call Sgt. Brazile of the Wellfleet Police Dept.
