You be the chorus

Banner Daily Update Fri. Dec. 28

It’s time for the sixth annual Messiah Sing Along with the Outer Cape Chorale which takes place at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the UU Meeting House, 236 Commercial St., Provincetown. Then, on Sunday for another round of musical fun, John Thomas offers a New Year concert in North Truro.

The Saturday Messiah concert is free and will be led by Jon Arteron who will conduct the 100-voice community chorus. John Thomas provides accompaniment on piano and, as the concert name implies, the audience becomes the chorus.

All are welcome attend and sing along if they care to. Scores are available to borrow if you don’t happen to know the music by heart.

The concert presented with support from The Provincetown Banner, The Provincetown Tourism Fund and The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.

The John Thomas concert, Music for the New Year, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Christian Union Church in North Truro located at 27 Shore Road (Route 6A)

Thomas will present a combination of piano and organ music and will feature the Christian Union Church Choir. The concert will include classical music, film music, original music, seasonal music, and gospel songs.

The suggested donation is $10 or more and concert goers under 12 attend for free. Refreshments will be served after the concert.
