Spring Arts Competition in photography scheduled

Larry Collins and Pia Schachter will judge the upcoming Spring Arts Competition at the Schoolhouse Gallery, 494 Commercial St. in Provincetown. The competition category is photography or artwork generated from photography. The show will hang from May 16 to June 11 with a reception for the finalists and the winner from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 16.
All works submitted must be suitable for hanging, installation, or presentation without assembly. Artists will be responsible for any special installation and removal requirements, including equipment and hardware. All works will be for sale and the winner of the competition receives a $500 prize.
The fee to enter is $45 and should be submitted with the work. The fee is not refundable and may be submitted as cash, check, or credit/debit card
Works may be submitted on site, by mail or by mail with a CD containing images of the work instead of the actual work.
Final jurying takes place May 15. Works not selected for the show must be picked up on Friday May 16 or Saturday May 17. The gallery is not responsible for damage to work not picked up after these times.
Larry Collins is a painter and photographer living and working in Provincetown. He also is the current director of Larry Collins Fine Art, a gallery specializing in photography and antiques. Pia Schachter is a photographer’s representative and owner of the agency MAMA in Boston. She spent six years capturing the young men of the “death metal” music movement.
