PROVINCETOWN – A break-in at the home of the founders of the Provincetown Association of Concerned Citizens Monday night was “purely politically motivated,” according to Clarence Walker, co-owner of the property.
Walker and his wife, Marcene Marcoux, returned to their home at 186 Bradford St. around 10 p.m. Monday after attending the board of selectmen’s meeting and then dinner at the Crown & Anchor. When they entered the house, they discovered that Walker’s laptop computer containing all the information Walker uses to maintain the PACC Internet blog was missing.
There were five credit cards on a table in the room where the computer was and money and jewelry left out on tables in other rooms. All were untouched, Walker said.
“They knew our habit of going to selectmen meetings. I don’t think they were in here for more than three minutes. They were under instructions to take the computer,” Walker said.
