With the recent rain and suddenly nearly balmy temperatures spring finally got a hold on the Outer Cape. Gray is gone, replaced by a rainbow of long awaited color.
Lawns are going green and spring blooms like tulips, forsythia, hyacinths and azaleas were competing for best in show. Fruiting trees put on their own display and signs were definitely all around that winter’s grip has loosened for good.
The Banner caught these plants in the act of exposing themselves along a couple of side streets near the middle of town.
Birds have also been busy with migrating warblers showing up at feeders and here-to-stay birds like robins busy building nests.
