BANNER STAFF
A telephone line has been established for emergencies regarding sewer service. The 24-hour number is (508) 487-5474.
One hundred seventy-five properties, or 36 percent, of the new total of 476 properties connecting have connected and are on-line. For those newly admitted 15 properties, the sewer team has issued the first round of information via a mailing Friday, Nov. 21. We urge them to fill out the requested information and promptly return it to us, as this will have significant impact for our scheduling efforts. Again, this now closes the phase one contract property listing with Metcalf & Eddy under their service agreement with the town. They now have a fixed scope of work contract.
EPG project manager Wayne Perry is responsible for ensuring that each house connection is completed as designed and scheduled. Questions may be directed to Perry at (508) 487-7491 or at ptown@envpartners.com.
Private property work is the responsibility of property owners. Owners are reminded that sewer connection work requires that a permit be obtained from the wastewater office (26 Alden St.) prior to commencement of any work. The town does not endorse nor recommend the need for a private consultant to accomplish this work, although consultants may be chosen at owners' convenience. All M&E connection designs are final and will not be modified. For connection status updates, contact Garry Williams of M&E at (508) 487-5474. A list of contractors, plumbers and consultants who have expressed interest in the sewer project is on file with the DPW. This list serves only as a directory for the convenience of the property owners and is not a town endorsement of these companies.
