Mary J. Boyle, 91

Former Cape resident leaves family here
BANNER STAFF

Mary J. (Johnson) Boyle, 91, of Worcester died March 10 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester.

Mrs. Boyle was born in Worcester, one of 16 children and grew up in Paxton. She lived in Worcester from 1928 until 1957 when she moved to Dennisport. In 1991, she moved back to Worcester.

During WW II, she worked in the grinding wheel factory for the Norton Company in Worcester. While on Cape Cod, she also worked for the Ocean Spray Cranberry Company and at Bradlees in Dennis.

She was an avid scrabble player and also liked to knit mittens for relatives and friends.

She leaves three daughters, M. Janet Tonelli of North Grafton and Helen L. Rand and Patricia B. Mullaney of Worcester; a brother, Onnie Johnson of Worcester; a sister, Anne Carlson of Worcester; 11 grandchildren including Kevin Mullaney of Eastham; 21 great-grandchildren including Ryan Mullaney of Eastham; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband of 63 years, Charles E. Boyle, died in 1992. A son, Charles O. Boyle of Wonalancet, N.H., died in 1998.

Burial was in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to The Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA 01603.
