George E. Bouchard, 80

Provincetown pharmacist

George E. Bouchard, 80, of Provincetown died quietly at his home June 19 after a long illness.

Born and educated in Lawrence, he was the son of the late George and Ellen (Hogan) Bouchard.

He was a WW II Army veteran, serving as a medical technician in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. Upon discharge, he enrolled in the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston.
He was a pharmacist in Lowell, Hartford, Conn., Washington, D.C. and Provincetown.

He enjoyed the theater, opera and was an avid moviegoer. He especially loved movies of the ’30s and ’40s.

He is survived by his partner of 53 years, René T. Perriolat. The couple was married in July of 2004. Two brothers, Joseph and Vincent Bouchard, predeceased him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 236 Commercial St., Provincetown.

Memorial donations may be made to the VNA of Cape Cod, 434 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660 or the Provincetown Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 109, Provincetown, MA 02657.
