Clara E. Martin, 80

Homemaker, lifelong Provincetown resident

Clara E. Martin, 80, of Provincetown died Friday, July 15, at the Cape End Manor after an illness. Her husband, Antone Martin, died in 1996.

A life-long Provincetown resident, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Helen (Veara) Smith. She was a graduate of Provincetown High School.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker. She also was a waitress at the former Bonnie Doone Restaurant and the Governor Bradford Restaurant.

She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Antone Martin of Eastham and Joseph Martin of Truro; a brother, George A. Smith of Hyannis and Florida; two grandchildren, two great granddaughters and two step-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the McHoul Funeral Home, Harry Kemp Way and Howland Street, Provincetown, preceded by a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to the Provincetown Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 109, Provincetown, MA 02657 or the Cape End Manor Residents’ Fund, 100 Alden St, Provincetown, MA 02657.
