OBITUARIES

Clive N. Jacobs, 81

Former Provincetown business owner

Clive Jacobs, 81, of Provincetown and New York, died on Sunday, Jan. 22, from complications of emphysema.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland and brought up in London, Mr. Jacobs came to the U.S. with his mother when England got into WW II. He finished high school in New York and returned to England when the U.S. joined the war.

He returned to New York after attending the Royal Technical College in Glasgow and serving in one of the first radar units in the Royal Air Force.

He and his wife of 45 years, Barbara, owned “All That Glitters,” a gift and jewelry shop in Provincetown, along with two shops in New York for many years.

He considered Provincetown the home of his heart and spent as much time as he could here until his health made that impossible.

He is survived by his wife, who is of New York and Provincetown; daughter Jillian, son-in-law Bob, daughter Amanda, son-in-law John and three grandchildren, London, Quinlan and Weather, all of Colorado.

Memorial donations may be made to the Provincetown Rescue Squad.
