Nancy (Ramey) Demarest, 76

Provincetown rooming house proprietor & former resident of Truro

Nancy (Ramey) Demarest, 76, died at Windsor Home in South Yarmouth on Feb. 12. She was the mother of Allen Wastler of Bloomfield, N.J.

Born in New Brunswick, N.J., she was a graduate of Duke University. She worked many years as a chemist for the National Institute of Health and for the University of Maryland. She moved to Provincetown in 1974 and for many years operated a rooming house there. She had also resided in Truro, Hyannis and most recently, West Yarmouth and did volunteer work at the Greenery in Hyannis.

In addition to her son, Ms. Demarest leaves a sister, Jane Withers of White Sulfur Springs, W. Va., and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private.
