Mary A. (Segura) Deschene, 83
Provincetown native, worked in the clerk’s office
Mary A. (Segura) Deschene, 83, of Provincetown, died Saturday at EPOCH Senior Healthcare in Brewster after an illness. She was the wife of the late Ernest Deschene.
Born in Provincetown, Mrs. Deschene was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Almeda [Silva] Segura. A graduate of Provincetown High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society.
Mrs. Deschene was employed by the Provincetown Town Clerk’s office for 10 years. After retirement, she worked summers at the Portuguese Princess Whale Watch. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle parish, enjoyed knitting and was an excellent crafter. She also donated much of her time to the Provincetown Council on Aging.
She is survived by her sisters, Mildred Silva of Provincetown, Antoinette Donahue of Eastham and Katherine Coleman of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was to be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
