Vivian L. Morris, 90
Lifelong Provincetown resident
Vivian L. Morris, 90, of Provincetown, died Saturday, Feb. 18, at Liberty Commons Skilled Care and Rehabilitation Center in Chatham after a short illness. Her husband of 42 years, Manuel Morris, died in 1974.
Born and educated in Provincetown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Wilhelmina (Souza) Lema. A homemaker, she worked summers as a chambermaid at a number of Provincetown hotels and motels over the years.
Mrs. Morris was a member of the Lewis A. Young Post, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Catholic Daughters of Isabella, and was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish. She was an ardent knitter, enjoyed taking long walks and loved her dogs, especially Annie.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Wiles of Provincetown; a sister, Beatrice Packet of Chatham; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Leo Morris.
A Funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
