Marjorie H. Williams, 88
Former owner of Pilgrim Colony Cottages
Marjorie H. Williams, 88, of North Truro, died on April 24 at EPOCH Senior Health Care in Brewster after an illness.
She was the wife of the late John Williams, who died in 1998.
Born and educated in Greece, N.Y., she graduated from Syracuse University where she majored in business administration. After graduation she became an executive secretary at Eastman Kodak. While vacationing with her family at the Pilgrim Colony Cottages in North Truro she met the owner’s son, John Williams. They married in 1943 and ran the business together until they retired in 1986.
She was a member of the Provincetown Methodist Church and a member and former president of the Nautilus Club. She was an accomplished artist who worked primarily in oils. She also liked to sew.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Merrill of North Truro; sons Tom Williams of San Diego, Calif., James C. Williams of Los Angeles, Calif. and John H. Williams of Hyannis; and three grandchildren.
The calling hours are from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the McHoul Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown. A graveside service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Provincetown Cemetery.
