He was the son of Louise and the late Frank Corning.

Dr. Corning graduated from high school in 1984 and from the University of New Brunswick in 1988 with a B.S. in biology. He worked for six years as an animal technician at local veterinary practices and as a technician for the Agricultural Canada Research Station, working with dairy cattle. He interned at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Corning then moved to Rhode Island and was employed by the Warwick Animal Hospital. His journey next took him to North Andover, where he practiced Emergency Veterinary Medicine at the Bulger Animal Hospital. Finally, he moved to Cape Cod where he practiced for the last three years at Eastham Veterinary Hospital and its Provincetown satellite, Herring Cove Animal Clinic.

Dr. Corning was a natural born healer whose charisma and gift for working with animals (and their humans) will never be forgotten.
