Louise E. Pimental, 87
Native Provincetown resident, was an election teller
Louise E. Pimental, 87, of Provincetown, died Saturday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
She was the wife of the late Daniel C. Pimental, who died in 1976. Her first husband, Ulysses G. Brownell Jr., died in 1957.
Born in Provincetown, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Camila (Nunes) Meads. She graduated from Provincetown High School in 1936.
Mrs. Pimental was a hostess at Poyant’s Café, the Pronto Restaurant and Fat Jack’s Restaurant, all in Provincetown. She was also an election teller for the town for more than 40 years. In the 1950s, she owned and operated Provincetown’s Brownell Pharmacy.
Mrs. Pimental was a member of St. Peter the Apostle parish. She was also a member of the Provincetown High School Booster Club and served as a cheerleader chaperone during the 1970s. She enjoyed knitting and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Camila A. Smith and Stanley Smith. of Provincetown; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Brownell and Rainie Brownell, of North Truro; and grandchildren Michael Smith, Larry Lee Smith, Lisa Smith, Amy Carreiro and Hailey Waite. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were scheduled to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the McHoul Funeral Home, Harry Kemp Way and Howland Street, Provincetown, with Vigil Prayers at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Prince Street, Provincetown. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
