Arthur R. Williams, 72
Former construction supervisor for the National Parks
Arthur R. Williams, 72, of North Truro, died unexpectedly in his home on April 26. He was 72.
Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late James E. and Alice (Adams) Williams. Mr. Williams’ wife, Carol Ann (Rego) Williams, died in 1994.
Mr. Williams worked for the National Park Service, retiring after 30 years. During that time he served as a construction supervisor in many locations throughout the National Park system. He also worked as a charter boat captain on the Great Lakes. After moving here in 1994, he worked for the Provincetown Parking Dept.
Mr. Williams served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed photography, reading and an occasional trip to Foxwoods.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Youree and Vivian Principe, both of Wyoming; a son, Andy Williams of Claremont, N.H.; a sister, Mildred Petrulis of Medford; and a brother, James Williams of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Prince Street, Provincetown. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Arrangements are by McHoul Funeral Home of Provincetown.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
