Donald Goulet, 73
Wallpaper & furniture craftsman was part-time Truro resident
Donald Norman Goulet, 73, of West Hartford and Truro, died on May 30 surrounded by his loving family. He battled his illnesses with dignity and determination and will be truly missed.
Mr. Goulet was born in Hartford in 1933. He was owner of the Donald Goulet Wallpapering Company for over 40 years. He was an avid sportsman and loved to ski and play tennis. After his retirement in 1997 he played many rounds of golf, both in Connecticut and on Cape Cod.
Mr. Goulet was also an accomplished wood furniture craftsman. He taught those around him much about courage in his quiet way and never lost his sense of humor or the twinkle in his eyes.
Mr. Goulet is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Patricia (O’Brien) Goulet; his daughter, Sharon Goulet, and her fiancee, Sam Place, of Canton; his son, Thomas Goulet, and his wife, Anna, of Glastonbury; three loving grandchildren, Jonathan, Tyler and Michelle Goulet; a brother, Raymond Goulet, and his wife, Anne, of West Hartford; a sister-in-law and her husband, Maureen and Dick Houlihan, of New Britain; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bimalin Lahiri and his office manager, Lynn, for their compassionate care as well as the staff of St. Francis Home Care and Hospice.
The funeral was held in West Hartford from the Molloy Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
