Dorothy Barrett Flanagan, 95
One of the founders of the Pamet Harbor Yacht & Tennis Club
Dorothy Barrett Flanagan, 95, of Milton and Truro, died peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 10. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Flanagan and mother of the late Joseph T. Flanagan of North Truro.
Mrs. Flanagan graduated from Boston University. She was a life member of the Pamet Harbor Yacht and Tennis Club in Truro, and was one of its 10 founders. She was very active in the Milton Women’s Club and loved to sew, knit, crochet, go boating and antiquing. Mrs. Flanagan also enjoyed stamp and coin collecting. She made many lap afghans for the Veteran’s Hospital and donated teddy bears, hats and afghans to the Children’s Hospital. She was a member of the Milton Women’s Bowling League and loved to play bridge.
Mrs. Flanagan is survived by a son, John D. Flanagan of Quincy; a daughter and her husband, Barbara F. Cadorette and Dennis A. Cadorette of Truro; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A private funeral service will be held at the John G. Molloy Funeral Home, 1126 Washington St., Dorchester Lower Mills. Burial will also be private. Memorial donations in her name should be sent to Unquity House Recreation Fund, 30 Curtis Road, Milton, MA 02186.
