Melda Ellen Rogers, 88
Melda Ellen (Lewis) Rogers, 88, of Truro died Aug. 30 at Cape Cod Hospital as a result of a stroke that she suffered earlier in the week. Mrs. Rogers was the wife of Walter I. Rogers, formerly of Woodbury, N.J., whom she married in 1939.
Born in Stillwater, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Vernest A. and Maude (Hineline) Lewis.
Mrs. Rogers was educated in the Stillwater and Newton, N.J. schools and received her R.N. degree from Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. They moved to Truro from New Jersey in 1976. While living in New Jersey they resided in the Blauenburg area.
The focus of Mrs. Rogers’ life was her loving husband, her family and her many friends.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two children, Lynn R. Eisenbeil of Hendersonville, N.C., and L. Carey Rogers of Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren, Arrana Ashton of Hendersonville, N.C., and Tori Alene Rogers of Portland, Ore. She also was the grandmother of the late David May and sister of the late Hazel (Lewis) Gibson.
