Chester K. Lavenets, 62
Truro machine operator was avid outdoorsman
Chester K. Lavenets, 62, of North Truro died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 27, at his home. He was the husband of Christine (Stranger) Lavenets.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Steven and Pauline (Pushcar) Lavenets.
Mr. Lavenets was a machine operator for the town of Truro. Prior to that he worked at Mooney Fuel & Grain of Wellfleet.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He was a former member of the Eastham Elks and the Highland Fish and Game Club of Provincetown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Andrea and Jonathan Lavenets, both of North Truro, and Christopher Lavenets and Debbie Henry, both of Wendell, N.C.; six grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel and Elizabeth Henry and Stephanie, Samantha and Kayla Lavenets, all of Wendell, N.C.; and a sister and brother, Sharon and Steven Lavenets of N.C. He also is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Christian Union Church on Shore Road, North Truro. If desired, donations in memory of Mr. Lavenets may be made to the Truro Rescue Squad P.O. Box 2013 Truro, MA 02666. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gately-McHoul Funeral Home of Provincetown.
