Richard diFrummolo, 61
The stars in Provincetown’s firmament got a bit dimmer as the Banner learned at press time of the passing of part-time resident Richard diFrummolo at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30.
He was the spouse of Donald Winter and the son of Angelo and the late Emma (Gatto) diFrummolo.
A bigger-than-life, passionate lover of Provincetown, a devoted patron of the arts and an avid supporter of The Provincetown Theater, Mr. diFrummolo and his spouse, Donald Winter, lived in Provincetown’s West End for 23 years. They shared other residences in Boston, New York City, Woodstock, Vt., and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Mr. diFrummolo was a board member of the Provincetown Repertory Theatre and was frequently seen about town at art openings and other cultural events.
In addition to his father and his spouse, he is survived by three stepchildren, Anthony, Matthew and Andrew Winter, and nine step-grandchildren.
Visiting hours at Boston Harborside Home of J.S. Waterman and Sons-Waring-Langone, 580 Commercial St., Boston, are Thursday and Friday, Feb. 1-2, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at King's Chapel on Tremont Street across from the Parker House in Boston, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. A luncheon recption will follow nearby at noon at the Union Club, 8 Park St. in Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Stroke Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
