Arthur G. Jones, 90

WW II Navy vet

Arthur G. Jones, 90, of Provincetown, died Feb. 24 at Epoch Senior Living Center in Brewster. He was the loving husband of Barbara M. (Beane) Jones, to whom he was married since 1939.

Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the son of the late Arthur G. and Christine (Crossley) Jones.

During WW II he served in the Navy as a Radar man, First Class. He lived in Provincetown since moving from Randolph in 1982. While living in Randolph, he was employed at the Plymouth Rubber Company in Canton, where he worked in the office.

He was a life member of the Disabled American Vets and belonged to both the Randolph and Hyannis chapters. He was also a member of the VFW, belonging to posts in both Randolph and Provincetown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Arthur G. Jones Jr. of Denver, Colo., and Kent S. Jones of W. Bridgewater; his daughter, Jennifer J. Winslow of North Attleboro; two granddaughters, one grandson and three great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Raymond Jones, and his sister, Winifred Randall.

Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the Gately-McHoul Funeral Home of Provincetown, are private.
