OBITUARIES

Ruth C. Walsh, 80

Ruth Celeste (Carver) Walsh, of Marathon, Fla., and North Truro, formerly of Wellesley, died March 2 after an illness. She was the loving wife of John H. Walsh.

Mrs. Walsh was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Vinalhaven, Maine, the daughter of Albert E. and Lucille (Geary) Carver.

She graduated from Gibbs College in Boston and held several positions as an executive secretary prior to making a home for her husband and children. She was an active member of the Florida Keys Watercolor Society.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Walsh is survived by her son, John H. Walsh Jr. and his wife, Renee, of El Lago, Texas; two daughters, Ellen Sheil and her husband, Peter, of South Dartmouth, and Elizabeth Diaz and her husband, Salvador, of Melrose; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert E. Carver Jr. and his wife, Marian, of Vinalhaven; and a sister, Marilyn MacDonald and her husband, William, of Falmouth, Maine.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Catholic Church of San Pablo, 550 122nd Street Ocean, MM 53.5, Marathon, FL 33050. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, North Truro, at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice Care of Southeast Florida, Inc., 91256 Overseas Highway, Tavernier, FL 33070. Arrangements are by the Dean-Lopez Funeral Home in Big Pine, Fla.
