OBITUARIES

Katherine T. “Kay” Corley

Leaves family in Provincetown

Katherine T. “Kay” (White) Corley, of Natick and formerly of Framingham, died peacefully at her home on April 30 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John J. Corley Jr.

Born and raised in Natick, she was one of 12 children born to the late John W. and Mary E. (Garvey) White. She and her late husband moved to Framingham, where they lived for many years and where they raised their family.

Mrs. Corley had a long career as a waitress at Wallace’s restaurant in Framingham, where she greeted many favorite customers. During her time at Wallace’s, she developed strong and lasting friendships and eagerly kept track of all the local baseball and softball rivalries and scores. She continued waitressing into her 70s, after which she spent seven years serving lunch to a younger crowd in the Framingham Public School System.

An avid bingo and card player with a flair for the strategically played trump card, she brought her game wherever she traveled, including her beloved Cape Cod. A dedicated lifelong Red Sox fan, she treasured her trips to Fenway Park. In latter years she developed a passion for chair volleyball at the Natick Senior Center and took pride in victories over rival Framingham.

She was loved by her children and grandchildren, and she steadfastly attended and supported their many endeavors.

She is survived by three children, Joan C. Guerreiro of Provincetown and her husband, Rob; Joseph M. Corley of Leominster and his wife, Barbara; Kathi Morganti of Holliston and her husband, Paul; two brothers, James White and his wife, Angie, of Natick; Joseph White and his wife, Margaret, of Blackstone; one sister, Marie Fowler of Waynesboro, Va.; seven grandchildren, David Caparelliotis, Katie Morganti, Michael Morganti, Lindsey Morganti, Derek Corley, Bryan Corley and Gregory Corley.

Mrs. Corley was the sister of the late Marjorie White, Veronica Kaskon, Helen Berggren, John White, Charles White, Edward White, Leonard White and William White Jr.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
