Kathleen M. Segura Coleman, 80
Early Hillary Clinton supporter
Kathleen M. Segura Coleman, 80, of Brooksville, Fla., passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, under the care of Hernando Pasco Hospice.
She was predeceased by her spouse of 62 years, Robert S. Coleman, on Jan. 12.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Provincetown and graduated from Provincetown High School before marrying her husband, Bob. They traveled the U.S. while her husband served active duty with the Air Force. She raised two children and was always supportive of their choices in life.
Mrs. Coleman graduated from Burlington County College and served in a variety of work settings, most memories being those of registrar at Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Trenton, N.J. and as a substitute teacher for the Bordentown School District in N.J. Both she and her husband loved history, reading and the excitement of politics. She served as one of the original charter presidents of the Hillary Rodham Clinton Fan Club before the Clintons even went to the White House. Both she and Bob were thrilled when they were invited, along with the other club presidents, to be guests of President and Hillary Clinton. She and her husband also served on the Senior Florida Legislature, participating in activities at the Florida State Capitol.
Mrs. Coleman was a breast cancer survivor, her final illness the journey of Alzheimer’s dementia. She will have her final resting at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C., with her husband, Robert, who was laid to rest on March 9, with full military honors.
Survivors include daughter Anita Louise Grabowski, son-in-law Al and her grandson, Joe, all of Brooksville; son Robert “Bobbie” Coleman, daughter-in-law Catherine and grandson, Sterling, of Federal Way, Wash.; her sisters, Mildred Silva of Provincetown, Antoinette Donahue of Eastham and several nieces, nephews and caring friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Almeda (Silva) Segura; brothers Richard and Lawrence; sisters Beatrice and Mary.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Hernando Pasco Hospice for their compassionate and loving care provided to Kathleen.
