Linda A. Menangas, 54

Longtime Manor employee

Linda A. (Motto) Menangas, 54, of Provincetown, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 1, at Cape Cod Hospital. She was the wife of Gerard Menangas, to whom she was married for almost 34 years.

Born in Barnstable, Mrs. Menangas was the daughter of the late Manuel and Veronica (Prada) Motto. She graduated from Provincetown High School in 1970.

Mrs. Menangas worked for more than 20 years at the Cape End Manor as a certified nurse’s assistant until she had to retire in 2000 due to disability. Many years ago, when there was a local bowling league, she was a member of the team called the “Little Nippers.” More recently she would often enjoy her trips to “Foxwoods” with her good friend Berta Romano.

In addition to her husband, Gerard, she is survived by her two children, Stephanie A. Menangas and her partner, Jaime daLomba, of Provincetown and Scott L. Menangas and his partner, Kathryn Bushey, of Provincetown; her four grandchildren, Gage daLomba, Kenley daLomba, Avery daLomba and Ayda Menangas; her brother Manuel Motto, of Wareham; and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter-in-law of Florence Menangas, of Provincetown, and the late Anthony Menangas.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown. Visiting hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gately-McHoul Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way at Howland St., Provincetown, with a Vigil Prayer service at 6:30 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Linda Menangas Memorial Fund, c/o Lori Meads at Seamen’s Bank, P.O.
