David Daglio Sr., 68
Avid runner worked in finance
David Daglio Sr., 68, of Boston and Truro, formerly of Simsbury, Conn., died Aug. 13.
Mr. Daglio had a 30-year career as a vice-president and financial auditor for Travelers and then Citigroup Inc. and was most recently a popular professor of accounting and finance at Newbury College in Brookline. He was dedicated to both his professional pursuits and to his family. His education included a master’s in business administration from the University of Massachusetts.
In addition, Mr. Daglio was an avid runner who was a perennial competitor in the Falmouth Road Race and marathoner who could be seen many summers running the hills of Truro. He was a benevolent man who enjoyed working with all young people, most especially his own grandchildren.
Mr. Daglio and his wife, Elaine, built a house in the Corn Hill area of Truro and enjoyed every summer there beginning in 2000.
In addition to Elaine, his wife of 42 years, he is survived by four children, David Daglio Jr. and his wife, Kristina, of Boston, Daniel Daglio and his wife, Heather, of Winchester, Sally Schiller and her husband, Kevin, of Norwell, and Stephen Daglio, of Charlestown; two siblings, Doris Constantine and her husband, William, of Glastonbury, Conn., and Robert Daglio and his wife, Elizabeth, of Hartford, Conn.; plus five grandchildren.
Mr. Daglio was buried in Provincetown Cemetery. If desired, donations in Mr. Daglio’s memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
