Retired builder was avid gardener
Robert A. Bumps, 94, of North Truro, died quietly on Oct. 22 in Harwich.
Mr. Bumps was born and grew up in East Charleston, Vt. He graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston. He moved to Cape Cod in 1939.
Mr. Bumps was a home builder until his retirement, and an avid gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Lora, and son, Luther, of North Truro, and by two grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Smith of Knoxville, Tenn. He was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela Bumps Smith.
At his request, no funeral was held and a private service will be held at his family plot in Vermont in the spring.
