Dorothy A. Virgilio, 76
Dorothy A. “Dolly” (Foley) Virgilio, 76, of Provincetown and South Boston, died Oct. 30 at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of Phil Virgilio.
Born in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late William and Ellen (Pecham) Foley. Mrs. Virgilio had been a summer visitor to Provincetown for several years but became a year-round resident in 2001. She was known affectionately by her nickname “P’town Dolly.” The primary focus of her life was her family. She will be remembered for her fondness of parties, family events and laughter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Philip and Paul Virgilio of South Boston; her two daughters, Diane Virgilio White, also of South Boston, and Susan Virgilio of Provincetown; three grandchildren, Kenney White, Tony Brown and Danielle Brown; two brothers, William Foley of South Boston and John Foley and his partner, Michael Ciaglo, of Provincetown. She was the mother of the late Nancy Virgilio Brown and the sister of the late Margaret Prosser Kelly.
A graveside service was held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne last Thursday.
