Arnold Pisani, 82
Educator was WW II vet
Arnold Pisani, 82, of Ocala, Fla., and Provincetown, died Dec. 18 in Ocala. He was married to his loving wife, Joan Pisani, for 46 years until her death in 2000.
Arnold retired after spending 20 years as a professor at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. Before entering education, Arnold was a manager with General Electric, his last position in the plastics division of the Pittsfield facility.
Following his retirement in 1992, he spent the winter months in Ocala and the summer months at his summer cottage in Provincetown.
He served as a Eucharistic minister with the Queen of Peace church in Ocala. In addition to this service he dedicated much of his time to volunteer work at the Munroe Regional Hospital in the Prestige 55 Dept., Hospice of Ocala and Marion County Literacy Council.
He served proudly in the 82nd Airborne Division during WW II which included his participation in the D-Day invasion parachuting into France.
He will be sadly missed by his adoring family.
He is survived by four children and their spouses: Kathy King of Sheffield, her husband Allen, her two children Alyson and Mason; Betty Shielly of Los Angeles, her husband Brian and their son Dean; Nanci Bishop of Bolton and her husband Ken; and Matt Pisani of Groton, his wife Carolyn and their two children, Katherine and Cole.
A private service was held at the Church of Peace in Ocala. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that for donations to the charity of your choice in Arnold’s name.
