Raymond W. Hebert, 83

28-year Navy vet leaves family here

Raymond W. Hebert, 83, died on March 31 in Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, Va.

A native of New Bedford, Mass., he retired from the Navy as a master chief petty officer after 28 years and was a veteran of WW II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 367 & Assembly 1162, and was a 50-year member of the Fleet Reserve Association.

He is survived by his wife, Regina J. Hebert, of Norfolk; a daughter, Rachel Morton, of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Dakota Morton, of Norfolk; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a cousin, Clem Silva Sr., of Provincetown.

A Knights of Columbus Ritual was held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, and a graveside service with full military honors will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Deacon Walker King officiating.
