Virginia ÒGinaÓ (Menengas) Joseph, 80, a lifelong resident of Provincetown, died Aug. 21 at Cape Cod Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Francis ÒMollyÓ Joseph, who died in April 2006.
Mrs. Joseph was the daughter of the late Antonio and Sophia M. (Cabral) Menengas. The greatest joy in her life was spending time with her family, which included her late husband whom she adored, her children, grandchildren, and nine brothers and sisters. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. She was an avid walker and would often be seen walking downtown completing her daily chores.
She is survived by her four children, Brenda Ferdinand, of Arlington, Mel Joseph and his wife, Prudy, of West Barnstable, Ken Joseph, of Wellfleet, and Sandra Abraham, of Truro; her grandchildren, Andrea and McKenzie Abraham and Amy and Kate Howes-Joseph; two sisters, Isabel Thomas and Caroline Ograbisz, and her brother Lawrence Menengas. She was the sister of the late Mary Hilton, Anthony Menengas, Joseph ÒPuttÓ Menengas, Helen Menengas, Constance Senecal and Melvin Menengas.
