OBITUARIES

Myra Gotoff, 74

Myra (Lowenthal) Gotoff, 74, of Truro and Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Chicago, Ill., died on Oct. 25 at Mass. General Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Samuel P. Gotoff.

Myra was a founding partner in the Calihan Gotoff Catering Company and a member of the Woman’s Board of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. She will always be remembered for her warmth, hospitality, creative cooking and gardens.

In addition to her husband, Samuel, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Elizabeth Chadis and husband Tom Gibbs, Robert A. Gotoff and wife Jill, and David M. Gotoff and wife Sallie; a brother, Lawrence Lowenthal and his wife Pauline Gerson; seven grandchildren, Molly Chadis and Joseph, James, Samuel, Hannah, Sarah and Benjamin Gotoff.

A memorial celebration is being planned for June 2009 in Truro, a place that she loved deeply, where Myra spent many wonderful years with friends and family. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to UNICEF, 500 North Michigan Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60611.
