OBITUARIES

Sheridan G. Carr, 80

Sheridan G. Carr, 80, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Provincetown, died Sept. 20.
He became ill while vacationing in Provincetown and spent 11 days in Cape Cod Hospital before being airlifted to Pittsburgh. He died a week later.
Mr. Carr had been a summer resident of Provincetown all his life. He graduated from Ohio State University and spent several years serving in the Korean War as a naval officer. He remained in the inactive reserve until his retirement as commander. He worked for Standard Brands Food Co. and then became a food broker.

Mr. Carr’s grandfather built the family’s summer house in Provincetown around 1900 and it has remained in the family for five generations.
In addition to his wife, Jeannette, he is survived by his three sons, Scott and his wife, Nora, of Columbus, Ohio, Lt. Col. Jeffrey and his wife, Barbara, of Shelby Township, Mich., and Douglas of Manassas, Va.; and his 10 grandchildren. He was the brother of Natalie Dawley of Camarillo, Calif.
