OBITUARIES

Linda Wiggin, 49

Linda Lee Wiggin, 49, of Poultney, Vt., died unexpectedly at her home. Linda now joins her beloved soul mate and husband, Michael Torre, who died in 2003.

She is the daughter of late Kenneth E. and Lillian (Demers) Wiggin.

Linda earned BA and MBA degrees from Brandeis University. At the time of her death, she was a graduate student in psychology at the College of St. Joseph in Rutland, Vt., and planned to pursue a career in the mental health field.

She was a talented and prolific freelance writer who published many articles on a variety of subjects. Linda ran her own business of aura-photography and traveled extensively throughout New England presenting workshops and readings. She was industrious, self-reliant and witty.

A gifted teacher, she was an instructor in the English department at Castleton State College, where she taught public speaking and writing composition. She was ferocious in her beliefs and had the courage to express them. She expected no less of others.

Linda arrived in Provincetown in 1992, where she soon met Michael. They moved to Vermont in 2001. She often returned to visit friends in her beloved town by the sea.

Linda loved to cook. Decadent chocolate desserts were her specialty. She loved entertaining and relaxing with family and friends.

Linda shouldered many burdens. She was always striving to overcome life’s hurdles and attain her dreams.

She leaves behind her sister, Neurine Wiggin, and her brothers, Ken and Gary Wiggin.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home in Poultney. Donations in her memory may be sent to the Rutland County Women's Network and Shelter, PO Box 313, Rutland, VT 05702; or to the Community Cancer Center, 160 Allen Street, Rutland, VT 05701.
