OBITUARIES

Robenia Smith, 91

Robenia Myrer Smith, 91, died on March 23 after a long illness.

She was the daughter of Raymond and Angele Myrer, lifelong summer residents of Provincetown.
She was a handweaver and textile designer and had shops in the West End of Provincetown and in Palm Beach, Fla., for many years where she sold the goods she made.

Ten years ago she moved to North Truro where she became a year-round resident. During the ’60s and early ’70s she was a political consultant for women’s appointments in Washington, D.C. During the late ’70s she worked at the World Affairs Council in Boston.

An active member of the Christian Union Church in North Truro, she delighted in weekly Bible Study. When she wintered in Florida, she served as a “caring minister” at Church by the Sea, Bal Harbour. An avid knitter, she made multiple baby sweaters for the nursery at Bedford Hills Correctional Institution.

She is survived by two daughters, Robin Hendrich of North Truro and Elizabeth Smith of Chicago, Ill., and a grandson, Philip Jacobson, who is a sophomore at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

A service of thanksgiving for her life will be held at Christian Union Church in North Truro at noon on Monday, March 30.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod.
