General NPS passes may be purchased at Salt Pond Visitor Center (daily March 1 through October 31, and on weekends November 1 through February) and at Province Lands Visitor Center (daily Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend). Herring Cove: Follow Rt. 6 past Provincetown. Can't miss the signs. Herring Cove is a National Seashore Park and has lifeguard. restrooms, food, changing facilities, wheelchair accessible and a lot of parking. Race Point: Race Point Beach and The Province Lands Visitor Center are located on Race Point Road, off Route 6, at the northern end of Cape Cod National Seashore, approximately one mile from Provincetown. There is a lifeguard, restrooms, changing facilities, and parking. Province Lands Visitor Center is open May 1 through October 31, 2004, 9 - 5 P.M. daily. (508)487-1256 OFF ROAD PERMITS are available for use on Cape Cod National Seashore's off-road driving corridor. A weekly, seven-day permit is available for $50. An annual permit for mid-April through mid-November is available for $150. Self-contained recreational vehicles may obtain a permit for mid-April through mid-November that allows for overnight stays for $225. Permits are issued 7 days a week, including holidays, from 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., from the last Wednesday in March through November 15th, at the Oversand Station at Race Point Beach in Provincetown.
